Mastering the Art of Facilitation: A Workshop for Successful Development Practitioners
I am excited to announce my weeklong course on Facilitation Skills for Development and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Practitioners from 29 January 2024 to 2 February 2024.
The course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to excel in challenging scenarios as someone working in the field of development or as a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) practitioner . Not every audience or stakeholder is well-versed in project management or technical M&E jargon, and sometimes, you may need to communicate less-than-positive findings from an evaluation report. Moreover, diverse backgrounds and competing interests within a group can make consensus-building a delicate task.
Here's a glimpse of what the course offers:
The Facilitation Process: I provide a step-by-step guide to mastering the facilitation process, ensuring that you can confidently lead productive meetings.
Facilitation Roles and Responsibilities: Understand your role as a facilitator and the responsibilities that come with it.
Various Facilitation Techniques: Learn a range of proven techniques and when and how to apply them effectively to engage your audience and achieve the desired outcomes.
Active Listening: Sharpen your active listening skills to better understand the needs and concerns of your audience.
Group Dynamics: Gain insights into group dynamics, enabling you to anticipate and address potential challenges that may arise during meetings.
Characteristics of Good Facilitation: Discover the key qualities that make a facilitator exceptional in their role.
Energizers and Ice Breakers: Explore engaging activities to kickstart your meetings and create a positive atmosphere.
Addressing Difficult People Situations: Equip yourself with strategies for handling challenging individuals and maintaining a constructive environment.
The course combines 3 live sessions with me, Ann and 3 sessions of self-paced learning utilising an online Learning Management System. The course is highly interactive with role-play and simulations. You don't have to be a trained M&E practitioner or facilitator to join. Once you work in the area of social development, you will derive benefit from this course.
